A few years ago, I found a documentary onilne about television broadcasting that captured everything I love about working in TV. It was called Seconds To Play, a half hour special that aired in 1976 and took a behind the scenes look at ABC's coverage of a college football game. It featured interviews with the director, producer and crew, offered a glimpse into the technology used at the time and showed many aspects of a production environment that are still around today.
I literally watched it dozens of times and it never got old to me. That whole "mobile culture" has been so appealing to me ever since I started volunteering on mobiles.
So without further adieu, here it is. I hope it makes you think next time you watch sports on TV. (be sure to watch part two as well)
